When customizing wardrobes, the first dilemma many clients face is: should I go with floor-to-ceiling doors or split-panel doors?
Floor-to-ceiling doors do look stunning – clean lines, spacious feel, and they visually lift the ceiling height. But here's the honest truth: they're not for every home. Quite a few people have ended up with regrets after installation.
Today, I'll skip the complex theories and share 3 real-life cases to help you avoid these pitfalls.

The situation: The homeowner received a ready-to-move-in apartment with untreated walls and decided to go with floor-to-ceiling doors anyway.
The disaster: The gap between the cabinet top and the ceiling varied in width, with the widest spot big enough to fit a finger. The installer filled it with silicone caulk. Six months later, the caulk yellowed and cracked – an eyesore.
The reason: Floor-to-ceiling doors demand perfectly level walls and ceilings. Uneven surfaces create a "wavy ceiling" effect that ruins the entire look.
✅ The right way: Before committing to floor-to-ceiling doors, have your contractor check the walls and ceiling with a level. If they're not flat, level them first – this is not the place to cut corners.
